The Human Diagnostic Manual

The Human Diagnostic Manual (HDM) aims to provde a system of psychological diagnosis which:
  1. Acknowledges the dynamic biopsychosocial interaction.
  2. Acknowledges the normality of dysfunctional psychological processes
  3. Directs treatments that encourage human diversity and wellness
  4. Does not marginalise disadvantaged groups
  5. Is applicable to all cultures
  6. Is based on scientific knowledge
  7. Is not based on assumptions that undermine the purpose of the manual
  8. Is not vulnerable to political or economic influence
  9. Is easy to use
  10. Is freely available
